Camping

We went camping for the 4th of July weekend. We had originally planned on staying 2 nights, but only made it through one night. Let's just say it started off rather rough, but ended pretty good!!! We got there and it had been raining all day. (That should have been my clue to just not go!) So because of the rain, our campsite was a pond. The kids were running in the water like crazy, and being the clean freak that I am, I just could NOT stand it!!!! I felt like I was constantly telling Macie to get out of the water, not that it mattered because she was already wet, but I just hated the thought of all of it. Anyways, we got the kids to bed and then sat under a tarp for a couople of hours and just talked. The talking was fun and we had a good time, I just can't stand the whole water thing!! So, we go to bed, thinking that the raining was done (it wasn't) it rained all night and half of the next day. Well, our tent has never leaked but this time it did! I am pretty sure that I had a steady drop of water falling on my head all night. Exciting, I know! The next day, we had a nice breakfast, and then we were all ready to pack up and go home because I could not stand the water any longer, when some other friends showed up and got us a different camp site that was dry!! We had already packed up all of our stuff at this point, so we decided that we would not stay another night, but we would stay through dinner. It was a fun camping trip, one that I will always remember, but I think that if I could delete the rain, I would! These are Addie's favorite snack. She was so funny because I just handed her the container that was about half way full, and she just sat there and downed the whole thing!! She was loving life!!
Also, This trip made me realize how happy I am that she doesn't crawl or walk yet, can you imagine the mess she would have been!? It is so nice that she likes to just sit there!!!
Here is Macie having a breakdown because she did not get a nap. She was having a pretty rough afternoon because of that fact. She was crying over EVERYTHING.

This is Macie within 2 minutes of us getting in the car, she was out of it!!! Tired girl!

Here is Addie. Within 5 minutes of us being in the car, she was out of it.

It was a nice quiet ride home. Then we got home and had to wake them up to bathe them. That was the worst. I wish I could have just put them straight to bed. All in all though, It was a fun trip!

Princess

We had a church picnic last week at a place called Squires Castle. Well, when we said the
word castle...Macie knew what she wanted to wear. She came downstairs with this little princess hat on and insisted on wearing it. She wore it the whole way there in the car and I would have let her wear it outside as well, but Geoff didn't want her to, so he was able to talk her out of it. Still pretty funny that she is starting to get an opinion on what she wants to wear out!!

Sprinkle Cookies

We were outside the other day playing. Macie had a bowl of sprinkle cookies (you know, the frosted ones that are pink and white with sprinkles on top). She left them in a chair while she went to play. Addie found them. Addie ate them. And.....she loved them. I am pretty sure that she downed 3 in a matter of 5 minutes. She would have loved to have more, but mom was mean and took them away! Let's just say she wasn't very happy with me!!!I love this picture! It is like she knows she's been caught.

Those were yummy!!! Thanks mom!!!!

Going to the Dentist

Macie had her very first dentist appointment the other day. She was ok with the idea of it, but when it really came down it, she is just like her mother and doesn't like the dentist!!!!! :)

I am really glad that Geoff was able to be there, because there is no way that I would have been able to handle both of the girls by myself with the way that Macie was acting. She REFUSED to get in the chair, lay down, or even open her mouth. Geoff ended up holding her on his lap, making her lay down, and she then she finally relaxed a little bit and opened up her mouth. Here she is crying and Geoff is holding her arms down saying that it is ok!
Here she is finally opening her mouth!
Then we really needed to get her in the actual chair, which Geoff accomplished by basically forcing her into the chair. Once in the chair, she was fine, I think that it was just the thought of it. In the end, she got a bag with a toothbrush and some stickers in it so she left a happy little girl!
Although she still says that she is scared of the dentist (which I never correct, and Geoff always does by saying that it is fun!)

And here is Addie sitting like a big girl in the chair with no fussing! What do you think, I think that she likes the dentist!

Brushing Teeth

We told Macie to go and brush her teeth. We walked in on her and this is what we found. Apparently she wanted to look in the mirror so she could see what she was doing. So, we took her out of the sink and hung this mirror up.
She appreciated that. It's alot easier to climb onto the toilet than it is to climb into the sink. Who would have thought.

play time

The other day we were in the toy room. We started playing around and these are the pictures that turned out.
These are all on top of the play house. I think that is funny how we go from completely happy, to sad, to ok.

If this doesn't make Addie look big, I don't know what does!

Macie's 3rd Birthday!!!

May 5th was Macie's 3rd birthday!! I can't believe that she is already 3! She is getting so big and we just love her to pieces. She is so funny and is always making us laugh. She is such a good big sister to Addie and is becoming a pretty good listener. She loves to play with friends and can't wait until she can go to school like a big girl! She is also potty trained (finally!)!
All in all it was a fun day. She got to go out to lunch to "the best restaurant ever!" (TGI Fridays and yes that was her choice!) Then we headed over to Chuck E. Cheese's to use our 20 free birthday tokens, then she had a brownie and ice cream with presents. She got some fun presents and was able to have a little party the next day with a few friends. We are so glad that it is over because she has been talking about her birthday for months and every time we go to the store all she says is "I need this for my birthday" and continues on with every toy she sees. She was also asking everyday if it was her birthday and when her party was. So we are glad that we don't have to hear that anymore.
